Project Summary
The overarching objective for this course was to produce a computer-based training (CBT) module by using a systematic process. This project was built on the work in previous courses, EDUC-765 and EDUC-766.
The CBT for this course is a reusable learning object (RLO) that can be used in many contexts, but for purposes of this project, it is a RLO that would be used in a course on improving performance evaluations. The RLO focuses of SMART goal-setting using the criteria of specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-sensitive. The first step was to review the outcomes of the course and ensure alignment between the objectives of the RLO and the objectives of the course. The design document is a summarization of the project, including the RLO flowchart, the screen design, the estimated design time, and the estimated learner time required to complete the project. The design document also identifies any resources needed to successfully launch the CBT.
The SMART Goal-Setting CBT's main objective is to help the learner write goals using a process to ensure the goals are aligned and are written in a way for specificity, tracking, and attainment. The course is designed to incorporate learner activities and knowledge checks as they progress through the module. The examples are designed for a healthcare setting, but can easily be modified for other contexts.
